MOVING IN AND OUT

At Habitat Property, we understand that moving can be both exciting and challenging. To help facilitate a smooth transition into and out of your rental property, we have compiled a set of guidelines and resources for your convenience. Whether you are moving in or preparing to move out, the following information will assist you in navigating the process effectively.

Moving In:

Pre-Move-In Inspection: Before you move in, we strongly recommend conducting a thorough inspection of the property. This includes documenting the condition of each room, noting any existing damages, and taking photographs if necessary. This inspection will serve as a reference point when you move out to ensure a fair assessment of the property's condition.

Utilities and Services: It's essential to arrange for the transfer or setup of utilities and services in your name prior to moving in. This typically includes electricity, gas, water, internet, and any other applicable services. Contact the respective service providers to initiate these changes and ensure a smooth transition.

Change of Address: Update your address with relevant organizations, including the postal service, banks, government agencies, subscriptions, and any other entities that need to be aware of your new address. This will help ensure that important documents and correspondence reach you without interruption.

Moving Checklist: To help you stay organized during the moving process, we have prepared a comprehensive moving checklist. This checklist covers key tasks such as packing, notifying important parties, arranging transportation, and more. You can access our moving checklist on our website or request a copy from our office.

Moving Out:

Notice Period: Refer to your tenancy agreement for the required notice period when planning to move out. Ensure that you provide written notice to our office within the specified timeframe. This allows us to make appropriate arrangements for the property.

Cleaning and Repairs: Before you vacate the property, it is essential to clean it thoroughly. This includes tidying up all rooms, ensuring appliances are clean, and addressing any damages or repairs that are your responsibility as outlined in your tenancy agreement.

Final Inspection: Once you have removed all your belongings and cleaned the property, we will conduct a final inspection. We will compare the condition of the property to the initial move-in inspection and discuss any necessary deductions from your security deposit, if applicable.

Forwarding Address: Provide us with your forwarding address so that we can process the return of your security deposit and forward any relevant documents or correspondence.

Please note that these guidelines serve as a general overview. Specific requirements and procedures may vary depending on your tenancy agreement and local regulations. If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding moving in or out, please reach out to our office. We are here to support you throughout the process and ensure a smooth transition.

Remember, we value your tenancy and strive to make your move-in and move-out experience as convenient and stress-free as possible.
